The second webinar, in a series of three, was held last Thursday. Based on thousands of hours working with hundreds of customers worldwide, Crowdynews social media curation experts shared their insights for finding real-time, relevant and safe social content.

During the webinar, Alberto Gonzalez – Director of Customer Success – shared tips and tricks for curating the best content from popular social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and more.

Specifically, the webinar covered the importance of curating content, best practices for finding content from the most popular channels, how to deliver breaking news to readers, the value of using geo-based news, and curation techniques to enhance publisher-based content.

For example, based on Crowdynews research:

  • 45% of people prefer visual content or photos
  • Almost 42% prefer text-only
  • Only 15% prefer live video (as it happens)

It is recommended the content be fresh – published within the last three days – when incorporating video in a social stream.

In addition, Alberto shared a number of web resources to locate authoritative voices for each of the social channels. Authoritative voices, when blended with a publisher’s subject matter expert, enhance the site’s credibility.

The next, and final webinar in the series, will share how Crowdynews customers measure reader engagement through the use of social media streams. The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2 PM EDT.
