Crowdynews Joins SPROCKIT at NAB Show

According to a recent Pew Research report, social media publishing has made significant gains in the US realizing an almost 10-fold increase in usage between 2005 and 2015. As a result, media companies have realized that they are no longer the sole influential voice when reporting a story. They are keenly aware that social media curation and publishing are crucial to sharing all voices of the story and are actively searching for ways to publish safe and relevant content alongside their articles.

In an effort to reach these media companies, Crowdynews recognized early-on that establishing a presence in the US was a must. In a press release issued July 2015, Jeroen Zanen, co-CEO of Crowdynews stated “The US is one of the most important markets for Crowdynews, as many of the world’s global media companies are headquartered there.”

Partnership

Earlier this year, Crowdynews was approached by SPROCKIT, an organization dedicated to showcasing the hottest new media and entertainment technologies. Working with the biggest and most widely recognized media companies in the world, SPROCKIT features up to 30 start-ups each year through partnership with the NAB Show and SPROCKIT Sync. As a SPROCKIT start-up, Crowdynews will have access to an exclusive community of media and entertainment decision makers throughout the year. We are very excited to be included in this exclusive group of technology providers focused on delivering real solutions for media and publishing companies. The invitation to be a SPROCKIT start-up reinforces our decision to enter the US market.

Our first big event as a SPROCKIT startup will be attending the NAB Show, the world’s largest and most important media and entertainment event, April 18 – 21 in Las Vegas. Some of the show highlights include a State of the Industry Address by Gordon Smith, President and CEO NAB, NAB Distinguished Service Award presented to Bob Woodruff, ABC News Correspondent, and of course, the SPROCKIT Hub located in the North Hall. In addition to having a booth where Crowdynews will showcase its technology, Jeroen will give a 5-minute presentation highlighting the benefits our publisher customers realize using the Crowdynews platform. The presentation will occur on the main stage in the SPROCKIT Pavilion.

Crowdynews will also have an opportunity to meet executives from the Sprockit Sponsor companies such as CoxMedia Group, Fox Networks, Hearst Samsung, TEGNA, and Univision. “We’re really looking forward to attending NAB as a 2016 SPROCKIT Start-up,” stated Jeroen. “As the premier event for broadcasters and publishers, NAB is the perfect venue to kick-off our relationship with SPROCKIT and to reach our ideal customers.”
