Product Update: Responsive Widget Design

With the proliferation of mobile phones, tablets, and other devices, publishers are transitioning their websites to be responsive to the various screen sizes of these devices. In order to accommodate this, Crowdynews is pleased to announce an update to the widgets that house our curated social streams, which now are fully responsive to screen resolution.

Based on the device’s resolution, the widget will display content and functionality in a form that’s best suited to that screen size. This means there are some changes in the user experience of the social stream based on the available space, including:

  • Text may be ordered differently
  • Menus collapse if items don’t fit next to each other
  • Buttons appear for navigating
  • Full page can be added to article
  • Filter on source for full page
  • Banners ads (if included) are repositioned when screen size becomes too small
  • Option to show ad banner next to or below widget

As with any significant change, existing widgets with custom styling and javascript may be affected by this update. We tested this thoroughly from our end, but we ask you to look at the appearance and functionality of the widget to verify everything looks and behaves as expected. If you find any issues, please reach out to us via [email protected] or contact your Customer Success Manager, and we will help you fix this as soon as possible.

There are even more enhancements to the social stream widgets to come – stay tuned to learn more about the next release.
